New Basketball Shorts

Rhev has been wanting some new basketball shorts for months now. He loves to play basketball, but he feels like he can only play if he has the right things to wear; t-shirt, basketball shorts, and basketball shoes. His old shorts got too small about a year ago, but he still has been wearing them. Well I decided to make a deal with him that if he would make his bed every day for a few weeks, then I would figure out a way to get him some shorts.  Well he did it, and I got him some shorts. He was SO proud of them. I took them over to him while he was at Candy Grandma's and he ran around making sure that every saw his new shorts. Then he had Kayl and Brielle come in the front room and practice basketball with him. Those shorts were worth every penny.

Of course little brother had to come in and show off his basketball skills as well.

Then I noticed his fingers.

Thanks to Aunt Brielle, Trayvn had the most beautiful finger nails. They were all sorts of pretty colors. He was pretty proud :)

Rainy Mornings and Mud Puddles

Woke up to a rainy day today and Rhev was so happy. Rhev (my little boy who doesn't like to get his clothes changed until at least 10:00) woke up at 8:00, changed his clothes, pulled on his boots, grabbed his umbrella and headed out the door. He found mud puddle after mud puddle and was just completely happy.

After a while, Trayvn noticed his brother playing outside and he had to join in the fun as well. He went, got his boots on, and headed out the door. They were so cute being brothers.

Once they were soaked and cold, they came in the house for snuggles and hot chocolate (that was after they tracked mud all over my freshly cleaned floors)

Being the mom to boys is so much fun!

A Little Early for Halloween

Somebody is just a little excited for Halloween. I have no idea what he is trying to be; Santa, pajama boy or big brother babysitter. The whole thing just made me laugh. He even had to put some candy in his candy bag before we could leave home to take him to Luke Grandma's for the day.

A Nights Adventures with Trayvn

Dillon brought both of my boys home early to me the other night so we got to watch a movie together. Trayvn was being a Momma's boy for the first time in a long time. I took every advantage I had to have my boy be my boy and not just a daddy's boy.
I loved having him lay on lap.

He was in a total daze.

After the movie we went outside to water the flowers. Trayvn was my helper. While we were watering the big flower bed a frog jumped out of the corner. Trayvn was as happy as could be catching that frog. It was the best bug he had ever caught. He was so proud of his frog.

He spent a long time just looking at it and examining it. It was pretty cool. when he woke up the next morning, the first thing he said was, "Mom, Frog" as in "Mom where's my frog".

Baby Sister Puppy

With the anticipation growing of having a new baby sister in the house, Rhev has figured out a way to keep his excitment eased. He has changed his Daddy puppy in to a Baby Sister puppy. He carries her around everywhere and changes her diaper every day. He sings to her, tells her stories and rocks her to sleep in the baby bouncy seat. He makes me so happy seeing him be to gentle and kind to his "baby sister". He is going to be such a good big brother. He makes me so proud. He is growing up to be such a wonderful young man. I love him to pieces!!!!

Proof of Independance

"If at first you don't succeed, try try again."
If you really know my little independent, "I do it" boy, this picture will not surprise you. At church today with my parents, Trayvn decided he needed a drink. Instead of asking for help, he climbed on the couch next to the drinking fountain and climbed up onto the fountain.
He got a drink all by himself.

Fair 2013

Well thanks to our wonderful borrowed wheelchair and chase to push me, I was able to go to the fair with my family. We took Rhev in durig the afternoon to ride the rides while Trayvn stayed at Candy Grandma's and took a nap. Miss Allie and little chase came to ride the rides with him. He loves doing rides with Allie and where they are the same height it works our perfectly.

Charlie got a wrist band too so he could go on the rides with little Chase.

Rhev loved almost all of the rides. He cried and screamed the whole way down on the giant slide, but went on it 3 times. It was a love hate relationship. He also really really hated the haunted house. It really surprized me because he loves Halloween type things, but he came out really upset. Allie thought it was way cool.

After we finished with rides we headed over to walk through the commercial buildings. Because Rhev loves trains so much, we decided that he would love to see the railroad display with the electric train and tracks. We were right, he LOVED it. He just stood there and watched in amazement. Then he noticed Tyce was filling out some tickets and asked what they were for. Tyce not thinking said "I'm writing your name on these so you  could be able to win this train". Rhev of course took that as he WAS winning the train and was so so upset with us when we decided it was time to go somewhere else and we didn't take the train he had won with him. He cried and cried. No matter what kind of explaining we tried to do, we could not convince him that he hadn't actually won the train and we weren't taking it home. The Whole rest of the night he asked us and begged for that train. It never left his mind. He was never distracted from wanting to go back and see his train.
After some fighting and coaxing we made it over to watch a bamboo show. Trayvn got there just in time to watch the show. The boys laughed and laughed. They sat up on the front row with Uncle Chase and had a great time.

When the bamboo show finished we went over to the petting zoo. The kids got to feed the animals and milk a cow.

You"ll notice the carpet burn marks still on Trayvn's face :)
Trayvn wasn't so sure he liked the goopy slobber on his hands.

Rhev's first kiss :) He was pretty proud of himself.

After the petting zoo we went over to the barns to look at all the other animals. By the time we were about half way through, the boys were tired, we were tired, the crowd was getting hard to go through with me in a wheelchair and the kids in a stroller, so we went to look at the train one last time and then headed home. On the way we stopped at McDonald's for dinner. All that yummy fair food and we decided it was best to stop at McDonald's :)

The next day was Tyce and I's yearly traditional date night to go watch the demolition derby. It took alot of persuading on my part to get Tyce to even let me go to the derby, but eventually I did win and he let me go. It was a much needed dated night with my husband. The boys spend the night at Luke Grandma's and she planned to keep them and take them to church the next day, so we didn't even have them to  worry about getting home to. I'm not going to lie, it wasn't the easiest night sitting in those bleachers. Tyce brought my bleacher chair so I at least had a backrest, but it was still rough. Eventually in the middle of the show he came out with me and let me stretch out a bit. Little Miss has never liked loud sounds and she was going crazy inside my belly.  I definitely suffered the consequences for our date night, but it was so worth it to have some special time with my Tyce. I love him so much!
