Thursday afternoon Tyce was able to take us and the camper up to Mountain River Ranch near Hiese where the reunion was held. I was so excited to get a break from my bed at home. It was a much needed vacation.
The boys were so good all week. They played good, ate good and got as dirty as possible. I think they were happy be be able to go and do something different.
The kids got to do so many different things the 3 days we were there. They rode the 4-wheeler, blew bubbles, played water games, made sand art, played playdo, watched Scooby-do, caught bugs, and lots of other adventurous things.
Aunt Alice brought a HUGE bubble blower. Of course all the kids thought it was the coolest thing they had ever seen. Rhev especially would get so excited. He would jump up and down with anticipation as they waited for the wind to create the bubble.
They made some pretty big bubbles.
One of the most tender moments of the weekend was watching Great Grandma Lady draw pictures with my sweet Trayvn. It was such a perfect moment. Trayvn loved every minute and Grandma was so patient with him. No matter how many times he asked, she just kept drawing around his hand :)
I just love this lady. She is my idol. I hope I can turn out to be half the woman that she is. She is one of my dearest friends and examples!
Alka Seltzer rockets are another fun tradition of the Ostermiller reunion. It wouldn't be a reunion with out them. All the kids love to do them. My boys were pretty funny with them. Trayvn loved to fill them at watch them explode, but he had a hard time finding the capsules after the explosion. He just wanted to have a new one every time and not have to go look.
Notice the lid left on the ground:)
Rhev did pretty good with them except for when he put them a little close to Grandma and Mom filling up the other kids rockets. A couple of his came pretty close to hitting us. He thought it was hilarious. After a while he decided that setting them down and waiting for them to shoot off took way too long. He then started throwing them to the ground like grenades. That was funny too!
It really was such a fun weekend. I think we are going to make a tradition of going all 3 days from now on. My Ostermiller family is so wonderful and we don't get to see each other enough. I really treasure the time we had. I want my kids to be able to have those relationships as well. I want them to grow up knowing that family is the most important and that it is important to make family important.
