An Evening at McTucker

One of our very favorite places to go as a family is to McTucker ponds in Springfield. It's about a 5 minute drive to a little boys Heaven. Last night we went out there with Janae and Travis and Tyce's family to celebrate Lillians 9th birthday. The boys love to go there because of the water. They love to fish and especially throw rocks in the water. Out of the two, Trayvn is the best rock thrower.
The little girl is Savaya. She would be Rhev and Trayvn's 2nd cousin. She is the cute daughter of Tyce's cousin Marcus and his wife Stephanie. She is older then Trayvn by a couple months. They had alot of fun together splashing and throwing rocks.

After dinner Rhev started getting bored and a little antsy. Unlce Chase came to the rescue and took him "rabbit hunting". Chase walked around the whole pond with his little buddy looking for  rabbits. Chase said they saw one, but Rhev said they couldn't catch it.
Rhev rode 3/4 of the walk on Chase's shoulders.

Then Rhev had to give Trayvn a ride.

After hours of begging and once the sun finally went down, we were able to build a fire. Before starting it, however, we made Rhev promise not to play in the fire. He happens to be quite the pyromaniac and makes his mom a little nervous around fire. As soon and the fire was going, Rhev got a stick and went straight for the fire. We all snapped at him and reminded him of his promise to which he exclaimed "I'm not playing in the fire, my stick is". He made a very valid point which let him be able to keep playing in the fire. The kid is just too smart!

The whole ride home Trayvn stood on the back seat of the pickup and stared out the window. He was so mesmerized by all the things around us. It was pretty sweet watching him.

Once we got home we were all surprised by the sweet gifts left by my mom. She had come and finished laundry, scrubbed bathrooms, mopped floors and left us the boys favorite treats all while we were off playing. She is such a sweetheart. She had just worked a full day at the greenhouse and then came straight over to clean my house. It was such a blessing. My poor sweet husband has been so overwhelmed with all the tasks he now has to take over in addition to work and other things and I really think coming home to a clean house made him relax just a little. I can't wait until the day I can get up and pay back my mom and everyone else who is sacrificing so much for my family right now. I don't know what I'd do without them!
