We have discovered a new favorite camping spot at Pebble creek. We have a perfect spot down in the trees away from the road. The creek has a perfect fishing hole for kids and there are lots of trails to ride the Rhino and the 4 Wheelers on. We took a couple days to go camping with Grandma and Grandpa Carlson and the Goodwins. The week was fun and dirty. The most memorable part of the trip came when we loaded kids on the the Rhino and 4 wheeler and Grandpa and I took the kids for a ride. We got about 2+ miles up the trail (which is not a vehicle trail) and the Rhino suddenly quit working. We tried and tried, but it would not start. After a LONG time, Grandpa decided to take the little kids back on the 4-wheeler with him and bring the pickup to come get the rest of us. We decided it would be better to leave the Rhino on the mountain and have Tyce come in between pipe a pull it out. After grandpa left us on the mountain, it started to get dark and the kids started to get nervous. They were suddenly very aware of bears and being eaten :) It took forever, but Grandpa finally showed up and we all survived. He drove the pickup all they way up to pick us up which meant we got to ride in the back on the way back to the camp. It was the bumpiest, wildest ride I have ever been on, but it was totally worth it. It brought me back to my childhood and all the wild rides in the back of my Daddy's pickup. We sang songs, played games and had standing up contests. It was to much fun. I'll always cherish that memory with my nephews.
Back at camp however, Kim and Grandma were a wreck! They were convinced we were all dead and eaten alive :) Little did they know, we had just had the best adventure of our life time!
The next day, Grandpa and I were just getting the 4 wheeler loaded with tools to try and go fix the Rhino when Kayl pulled in driving it. Tyce was following on his parents 4 wheeler. The Rhino was running just fine. Apparently on of the gas lines got a bubble in it and came unhooked. It was such a simple thing, it was just in a really hard spot to find. I'm not going to lie, I was really glad for the chance to get to see my husband for a couple hours.
The rest of the weekend went much smoother. Lots of fishing and chasing Maylie. All the kids were so dirty by the time we got home.. The bath water was black! But my belief is the dirtier the kids, the more fun they had.
